By Connecting Data Synchronisation Studio to an AD Group / OU you can automatically provision the creation of Users in Podio.
For this example we have created an AD Group called 'Podio Users' and everyone in this Group should then added to the Employee Network of Podio.
First step is to connect to your AD in Data Sync as the Source of the Data, locate the Active Directory Data Provider and enter the details to your AD.
We only want to return users from a specific group / OU so we add a LDAP Filter like this
We are going to use the Email Address attribute (mail) in AD for the account in Podio so we actually want to ensure that only users with an Email Address in AD are returned so we modify the LDAP Filter to ensure that we have an Email Address set like this.
The Source is now connected. It is good practice to preview the data to check that it is returning the right accounts.
Next we connect to the Target which is the 'Podio Members' Data Provider, enter the credentials and choose the Employee Network from the Space Drop down.
Now we define the schema map to have a single mapping of Email Address in AD to emailaddress1 in Podio.
We also need to modify the role of new users to be 'Regular' for the Employee Network.
Change the Role on the Target Podio Members Provider to
Regular by finding the
Role property in the properties box.
Now when you Compare A->B Data Sync will detect any new users that need to be added to Podio from your Active Directory and you can then synchronise them. Each new user will then be sent an Email by Podio to sign up.
The final step is to save the project and set it up to run automatically either via a Scheduled Task or Ouvvi.
