Installing Data Synchronisation Studio & Ouvvi with the Easy All in One Installer

We have a new installer available for preview that installs the pre-requisites for Ouvvi alongside Data Sync so that the Ouvvi installation process is but a few clicks. This means you can get the most out of the software by using Ouvvi and Data Sync together, rather than missing out on all the amazing features Ouvvi has to offer.

To download go to the download page and download the version available under Preview.

This installer is for a quick easy start that accepts the default settings. If you want custom settings then please follow the previous install method, make sure to uncheck the checkboxes for the pre-requisites and press Next to continue.

When you run the installer, if you do not already have SQL Express and IIS installed then these will appear as pre-requisites that need to be installed before continuing.

The installer will then download SQL Express and you will need to run through the SQL Server Installer.

When running through the SQL Installer please keep all the settings to the default configuration, otherwise it will break your default Ouvvi install. You can change the details later on if you need to.

Read through the license agreement for SQL Express and when you are happy accept the terms, then click Next and keep clicking Next until the install is complete.

IIS Install

Once the SQL install is complete the installer will move onto installing the IIS components via PowerShell.

Install Data Sync

To install Data Sync simply follow through the installer. Data Sync will launch once the install is completed.

Upon first opening of Data Sync a window will appear stating if you would like to install or update your Ouvvi instances.

As this is the first install, click on the Open Ouvvi Deployment Manager button which will open the Deployment Manager.

When the deployment manager is first opened a window will appear asking if you would like to define a default Ouvvi tenant. Click Yes.

This will generate a new Default Ouvvi instance. Now wait a few moments whilst this is installed. Once it is installed a green tick will appear next to the tenant.

Now right click and go to Browse to open your Ouvvi site.

You can now change the regional settings as required, and once you are happy click Setup.

All that is left to be done now is to register your license key by clicking on the Activate hyperlink or going to Settings> Register License.

Enter in your license key and click Activate.

Now go back to the deployment manager for the final step, starting the services.

The services are required to run your Ouvvi projects. In the Deployment Manager, right click on your tenant and select Start Service or your can select your tenant and press the green play button in the toolbar menu.

Now when you go back to your Ouvvi site and go to Services > System Services you will see green flags showing your services are running.
