Running a DS3 project on a schedule using the Run Tool

How to Run a DS3 project on a schedule using the Run Tool

Data Synchronisation Studio can either schedule a single Data Sync project or Multiple projects via the Run Tool.

Single Project Schedule

To create a schedule for a single project open the project in Data Sync and from the Tools menu select the option "Create Scheduled Task" this will then display the dialog window below. (You will have to save your Data Sync project first)

Scheduler

You then choose the days to run the schedule and at what repeat interval and click OK. This will then ask for your Logon Password to save in the schedule and create a Windows Scheduled Task. If you need to modify the schedule further you can modify it in the Windows Task Scheduler interface.

Command Line

To setup a schedule manually you can use the command line options as below to schedule a single project. C:\Program Files\Simego\Data Synchronisation Studio 3.0\Simego.DataSync.Run.exe "project.dsprj" -execute -window:minimize

Multiple Project Schedule

The Run Tool makes it easy to schedule multiple projects into a chain of events. You can also control the flow so if a previous step fails the following steps are not executed.

Run Tool

To add Data Sync projects to the *.dsrun solution simply open each project from the file menu, you can set the order of execution by clicking the Up and Down buttons on the tool bar and test the operation by clicking run.

When running multiple projects you can also stop them with the stop button, however the stop will occur on the next project i.e. you can't stop a project that is currently running the operation must complete first.

Command Line

C:\Program Files\Simego\Data Synchronisation Studio 3.0\Simego.DataSync.Run.exe "project.dsrun" -execute -window:minimize

Running a Run Project from Windows Task Scheduler

From the Tools menu select the option "Create Scheduled Task" this will then display the dialog window below. (You will have to save your Run project first). The dialog is identical to the Single project Schedule dialog
