Updating a Connection in the Connection Library

In this example I am going to re-point a SQL Database Connection from the local server to another server.

If you have used the connection library, which is best practice ,you may want to 're-point' the connection to a different location.
In this example I am going to re-point a SQL Database Connection from the local server to another server. The connection name is 'Country Import'.

Changing a Saved Connection

Open a DS3 project which uses the connection you want to change.

Connection Properties

You can see from the settings the Key value is 'Country Import' which is on the local machine. To re-point the connection create a new library connection item by clicking on the Green ON icon.

Connection Library

Complete the dialog with the new connection details and when presented with Connection Library save dialog, use the 'Name of Connection' dropdown and select the original connection name.

Naming Connection

Click 'OK' when completed and the connection will be updated by DS3.

NOTE: All projects using this connection on this machine will now use the updated location.
