This guide will help you install a developer instance of Ouvvi on your Development Workstation for Development and Testing.
To install Ouvvi this way you require the following main components.
This install also assumes a single instance is being installed and run from the global location. (i.e. Ouvvi is run from the Installation directory of Data Sync)
After the installation of Data Sync ensure the product is activated and running as normal.
Next configure IIS Express to point to the Ouvvi Web Files. First open the applicationhost.config file in a text editor from your documents/iisexpress folder.
We need to add 2 sections to this file first the Site Settings and then the Authentication Settings for the site.
Add a Site node that points to the Ouvvi Web Files i.e. C:\Program Files\Simego\Data Synchronisation Studio 3.0\Ouvvi\Web
<site name="Ouvvi" id="23"> <application path="/" applicationPool="Clr4IntegratedAppPool"> <virtualDirectory path="/" physicalPath="C:\Program Files\Simego\Data Synchronisation Studio 3.0\Ouvvi\Web"> </application> <bindings> <binding protocol="http" bindingInformation="*:9090:localhost" /> </bindings> </site>
Next location the section that lists the sites Authentication modes.
This time we need to enable Windows Authentication and Disable Anonymous Authentication.
<location path="Ouvvi"> <system.webServer> <security> <authentication> <anonymousAuthentication enabled="false"/> <windowsAuthentication enabled="true" /> </authentication> </security> </system.webServer> </location>
Now we can Start IISExpress via the Command Line (iisexpress /site:Ouvvi)
Next browse to the Site with Internet Explorer (http://localhost:9090 in this example)
Ouvvi will now start at the Database Setup Page
We are going to configure Ouvvi in Integrated Security mode, so Enter your Windows Password, SQL Server Name ( (localDB)\MSSQLLocalDB for LocalDB on SQL2014 or (localDB)\v11.0 for SQL2012) and Uncheck SQL Authentication Mode. Ouvvi Settings should default to standard values suitable for this install. Press Setup to create the Database and Configure Ouvvi.
If successful Ouvvi will re-direct to the Home Page and be ready to configure the Service.
The Ouvvi Service is not automatically configured so you can either run the service interactively or install it as a service.
To run the Service Interactively simply run the Service Program
C:\Program Files\Simego\Data Synchronisation Studio 3.0\Ouvvi\Service\Simego.Console.Service.exe and press the Start button to Start.
Or If you wish to install a Windows Service so it runs in the background run the Service program as an Administrator and from the File Menu choose Install Windows Service. You can then name this service and configure the Service in Windows Services Control Panel. You need to ensure that the User Account for the Service is your Logon Account so that it can connect to the SQL Database.
You should now have a functioning Ouvvi install on your Workstation that can be used for Development and Testing.
